Today we visited Missionaries of Charity to drop off presents from the members of the American Society! For Christmas, the American Society donated new shoes for all the children, modest gifts for the sisters and staff, non-perishables, along with a monetary donation. Days like today make us proud to be part of the American Society! A pair of Havaianas means little to some, yet so much to others–and it’s nice to see the other side of things!… It’s such a wonderful feeling to know others have gained in a big way from such a small gesture!
We knew we needed to continue “giving” to the children after Stavros donated his birthday presents to them! Everyone at Missionaries of Charity is absolutely wonderful and welcoming to Stavros, which makes it even more of a delight to visit and give to the organization! Sister Superior Isaac even gave Stavros a very special hand-made present today, which we will always treasure! For something a little extra, Stavros brought each child at Missionaries of Charity a bag of candy for Christmas–something they rarely receive, we’re sure. I also made each child their very own stick horse as a Christmas present from their friend, Stavros! The children were napping while we were visiting today, but we know they will love and appreciate their presents! We hope everyone decides to give to those in need this holiday season… and always!
