Heping Park

Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful, 81° day. We wanted to take advantage of the weather, so we planned a family day at the nearby by Heping Park. The park is quite large with boat rental, a zoo, a small amusement park and a large bounce house area.

First on our agenda was a boat ride around the park. Stavros did the steering and even controlled the throttle most of the time. We laughed at the other boat drivers–our three-year old seemed to have a better grasp of the concept than most! We really had a fantastic time and it was so nice doing something outside! We figured when we left Brazil we would always miss the year-round sunny weather and we definitely do… Shanghai weather is certainly better than weather at home in Detroit though, so we can’t complain!

After our boat ride, we headed over to the zoo. We fed the ostrich, goats and deer, then took our time staring at the lazy bears and leopards. The zoo in the park is small, but perfect for a little something extra to go along with the day in the park! After seeing the animals, Stavros grabbed an ice cream and chose a handmade lollipop for the ride home. One good thing about the park is it’s less than a ten minute drive for us, so we can go anytime we like now that the weather has changed.
