We had our annual Easter celebration today! It was a lot smaller than the 150 guests we had last year, but everything about it was absolutely wonderful! I spent the past few weeks planning the celebration and was able to carry out all the details I hoped to do!
I went with a burlap and lace theme, which provided and beautiful, shabby chic feel to the party! I used the burlap in several ways: tablescape, backdrop, banners, egg decorating, in picture frames and I even wrapped a large canvas in burlap to make an Easter wall hanging! Along with the burlap there was, of course, a lot of lace. I wanted to add some color and sophistication to the theme, so I turned to Chickabug for some custom printables in a lovely quatrefoil (my favorite print)! For decor, I also added a hanging parasol, pom poms, tissue poms, paper doilies, hand drawn and cut Easter silhouettes, two gorgeous flower arrangements and an abundance of egg cups and candle sticks.
I made t-shirts for the kids to wear to the celebration! The shirts turned out better than I expected and looked fantastic! Each shirt was customized with the kids’ names on the back! Adorable! I loved this detail and I think I will be using it again in the future!
To get the party started, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch delivered by Fields. Following lunch was the most exciting part of the party for the kids… A rented white, fluffy bunny for the kids to love on and feed! The bunny was the star of the party and certainly left in a carrot coma from all the carrots he inhaled! We also had another visitor! The Easter bunny (aka Tammer) made sure to stop by to say hello to everyone! The kids loved seeing him and I am so glad Tammer was such a good sport about wearing the costume! The costume was custom-made by a local company and fit Tammer perfectly! It arrived only two days ago, so I was grateful this detail actually happened!
Next, we all went outside for the egg hunt! It always amazes me how quickly an egg hunt is over–start to finish, the hunt lasted about ten minutes! I wanted to add a bit of an Asian touch to the party, being that we love in China, so I ordered Asian parasols for the kids! I thought the parasols were absolutely adorable, but the kids didn’t seem as into them as I was. Oh well, I liked them! I convinced the kids to take a few photos with the parasols and they conjured up some smiles! Following the parasol excitement, we headed to the underground garage for a bunny hop sack race! The sack race was also one of those things that is over before you know it! I loved the sack race though because I added handles, name tags and large bunny tails to the burlap sacks for the race! These details made the race even more exciting! The kids looked adorable in their sacks with their bunny masks on! Too cute!
After the race, we headed back upstairs to enjoy some cake, conversation, guitar-playing by Stavros and a playroom filled with toys! Last, the kids gathered up all of their goodies to take home and we called it a night! Wow, I was exhausted!!!
Such a fantastic day! Thank you to all of our guests for helping us make memories for our son! Thank you to Chickabug for you beautiful Printables! I wouldn’t change a thing about the day and I’m already making plans for next year’s Easter celebration!
